BENJAMIN TIMOTHY TILLMANN

Benjamin was born in London, Ontario, Canada -- a couple hundred kilometers southwest of Toronto.  Largely in part to the influence of one of his aunts, he began drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil, and started shooting and developing film in his early teens.  Realizing that his passions lay in the visual arts, his parents placed him in art lessons outside of those he was getting in school, and after graduating from high school he was accepted into Sheridan college; first taking Technical Illustration followed by the 3D animation program.

After completing the first year of the 3D Animation program, Benjamin landed a job as a 3D animator working on children's television programs.  A year and a half later he put his photographic background to use; accepting a position as a lighting TD and making the jump into animated feature and VFX work, beginning with the Tim Burton produced '9'. 

Since 2011 Benjamin has been living in Singapore, working at Industrial Light and Magic on a number of projects which include Jurassic World: Dominion, The Mandalorian, Rogue One, Ready Player One, and Avengers: Infinity War.  In his free time he competes locally and internationally in both dragon boat and outrigger canoe races and, of course, shoots.
